A yellow weather warning went into effect at 8pm on Sunday and lasted until 5am today.

A Met Office statement said: “While locations affected by thunderstorms are uncertain, some locations are likely to experience a combination of heavy rain, frequent lightning and hail on Sunday night.
“There is a small chance that homes and businesses will be flooded quickly and some buildings will be damaged by flooding, lightning strikes or hail.
“Should thunderstorms develop, they are likely to move north from the south coast into parts of south Wales, southern England and East Anglia on Sunday evening, before gradually weakening on Monday morning.
“While some locations remain dry, some locations could experience 20 to 30mm of rain in under an hour, with frequent lightning and hail added hazards.
Rain, in places heavy with a risk of thunderstorms over central areas further north, followed by sunny spells and some heavy showers. Beautiful end of the day in many central and southern areas. Warm in the sun.
monday night
Most places will dry later with clear periods and patchy fog. Low clouds and rain or drizzle in the far north. Cloudy, occasional rain and stronger west winds later.
Tuesday
Dry and very warm in sunny spells in many central and eastern parts. More cloudy in the west with heavy rain moving to the central parts by evening.
Wednesday to friday
Dry and sunny for much of Wednesday before later heavy rains from the west and south. This will clear up early Thursday, leaving spells of sunshine before patchy rain on Friday.
