The hacker group Anonymous has officially declared cyber war on the Russian hacker group Killnet.
According to Ukrinform, the Anonymous group announced this on Twitter.
“The Anonymous Collective is officially waging a cyber war against the Russian hacker group Killnet,” the group said in a statement.
Anonymous added that it had already hacked and released a list of emails and passwords used by pro-Kremlin Killnet hackers to discredit them and disrupt their activities.
As Ukrinform reported, on May 16, the Russian hacker group Killnet declared cyber war on the governments of ten states that, according to them, support “Nazis and Russophobia.” Later, the hackers clarified that the cyber war concerns the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Ukraine.
On May 20, the Killnet group carried out cyber attacks on the websites of Italian departments, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture.
