Izvestia correspondent Rodion Severyanov learned that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) placed weapons in one of the schools in Mariupol.
According to the journalist, in the courtyard of school No. 65, where about 800 children study, Ukrainian nationalists set up heavy equipment. The correspondent showed traces of caterpillars on the ground and a fallen fence.
“I didn’t see them, but I saw bloodied uniforms, traces all over the school. There were canned goods on the second and third floors, it is clear that they were there for more than one day, ”said Olga Degtyar, deputy director of school No. 65.
School work is now back to normal. The timetable was posted on the wall.
On May 11, the Ministry of Defense said that in the densely populated areas of the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration, Ukrainian militants placed heavy weapons and equipment, and residents were kept in basements.
According to him, attempts by the civilian population to evacuate to safe areas, both towards Russia and to territories controlled by the Kyiv authorities, are being severely suppressed.
Earlier, on April 29, the Russian Guard confiscated weapons in a children’s camp near Kherson. In addition, 38 transparent packages with a drug-like substance were found in the camp, as well as two metal boxes containing 58 pills.
On April 11, the Ministry of Defense released footage of a kindergarten in the Kherson region, which was used by Ukrainian military personnel as a stronghold. Trenches, firing points, dugouts were placed along the perimeter of the kindergarten. The building itself is surrounded by barbed wire. This facility has been occupied by the Ukrainian military since 2014.
In mid-February, due to the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) announced the evacuation of the civilian population to the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. As the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov clarified, the special operation has two goals – the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
