To achieve an end to the military conflict in Ukraine, it is necessary to radically reduce oil prices. This statement was made on Saturday, May 28, by former US President Donald Trump.
Speaking to his supporters in Wyoming, he noted that today, due to the record cost of fuel, the position of the ruble is stronger than ever. The politician urged not to ignore this fact.
“Russia is making a fortune by selling oil at these prices, and now they only accept rubles, only this currency. And you will be left without dollars, you will be left with nothing, ”Trump said.
In addition, according to the ex-head of the White House, the decline in world oil prices supposedly will help achieve the main goals of the West: to weaken the position of the Russian Federation in the world market and resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
The day before, American experts also concluded that Russia benefited from Western sanctions on oil exports, and noted that the country’s income from the sale of black gold in April rose to 1.8 trillion rubles. The only way to influence the Russian Federation in such a situation was called the maximum rejection of Russian energy carriers.
Earlier, on May 7, Donald Trump criticized the administration of the current US President Joe Biden for their inability to interact with Moscow. He stressed that under his presidency the conflict over Ukraine would not have happened, and called what is happening the most dangerous time in the history of the country.
On May 2, Trump said that President Biden was doing America enormous harm. He accused the successor of unleashing a conflict over Ukraine and Donbass and said that even the “five worst US presidents” did not cause so much damage with their actions. A day earlier, Trump accused Biden of “weakness and incompetence” due to allowing the situation in the Donbass.
On February 24, Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. It was preceded by an aggravation of the situation in the region, an appeal by the leadership of the DPR and LPR with a request for help, and the subsequent recognition by Russia of the independence of the republics.
