Astronomers predict that solar activity will increase significantly between 2025 and 2026. And right now, on May 29, a large geomagnetic storm is raging on Earth
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicted a geomagnetic storm on Earth. It is caused by solar flares. The laboratory also predicts small G 1 geomagnetic storms next week, after May 29.
We also wrote that the war in Ukraine can be seen from space: the Russian attack was filmed by the Maxar Technologies satellite. Solar flares are energy-generating bursts caused by the physical interaction of electromagnetic field components near or around sunspots.
The flares release a stream of electrons that travel as fast as possible towards the Earth, producing increasing amounts of X-rays and intense ultraviolet radiation. This radioactivity can sometimes disrupt the Earth’s information and telecommunications systems, interfering with high-frequency station transmissions.
Class M1 solar storms, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), are minor and can cause slow or weak radio frequency transmission. Solar activity is also predicted to increase significantly between 2025 and 2026.
