Domestic cars from the times of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation can be seen on the sidelines of the XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The exhibition “Domestic Automotive Industry”, presented by the Special Purpose Garage Museum of the Federal Security Service of Russia, will include historical cars that truly reflect the stages of its formation.
Of the rarities of imperial times, the chassis of the famous Russo-Balt S-24/40, the first truly serial domestic car, will be exhibited. The era of the 1930s is represented by the first small car – NAMI-1. The legendary ZIS-101 is also here – a representative of the first generation of Soviet limousines, produced from 1936 to 1941. The onset of the space age coincided with new trends in the automotive industry: the famous ZIL-111 became the first Soviet car with the original V-shaped “eight” and automatic transmission with hydromechanical transmission. The latest generation of passenger ZILs belongs to the family with the index 4104: in addition to transport services for members of the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee, they were used as security and special communications vehicles. Of particular interest to visitors will be the AURUS Senat Limousine, the latest executive car serving the top leaders of the state. The public will be shown the chassis of the “Unified Modular Platform”, demonstrating the unification of units and assemblies of AURUS brand models. The exposition will be completed by the youth roadster “Crimea”, created by the specialists of the Moscow State Technical University. N. E. Bauman.
The “Domestic Automotive Industry” exposition will operate in street zone F (F46), located between the Congress Center and Pavilion F.
The organizers see their participation in SPIEF 2022 as an opportunity to talk about the rich history of the domestic automotive industry, discuss issues of museum and exhibition exchange, organizing exhibitions in Russian regions and abroad, as well as investment and sponsorship participation in current and future projects.
