During the shelling of Stakhanov and Krinichny by Ukrainian troops, three civilians were killed. This was announced on Wednesday, June 15, by the defense headquarters of the Luhansk People’s Republic.
“At 16:40, the city of Stakhanov was shelled by the armed formations of Ukraine. Residential buildings damaged. According to preliminary data, two people died. Six civilians were wounded, two of them are children,” the Luhansk Information Center quotes.
It is also reported that one civilian died during the shelling of Krinichnoye.
On June 12, the representative office of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC) reported that a kindergarten, 11 multi-apartment residential buildings and seven private housing constructions were damaged in Stakhanov as a result of shelling.
On June 9, as a result of the strike of the armed forces of Ukraine on Stakhanov, the medical and pedagogical colleges with a hostel, the industrial and economic technical school, the Pobeda stadium and the Gornyak city park were damaged. On the same day, it was reported that the central city hospital of Stakhanov had been destroyed due to shelling from the Ukrainian side. The head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, said that the death toll from the Ukrainian military strike on the city had increased to 13 people.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
