The entry into Russia of the liberated territories of southern Ukraine will be logical without a vote. As the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said on September 8, this issue will be decided by the country’s top leadership.

“In my opinion, this option (without voting) is quite logical and justified in the current situation. In Crimea, there was an absolutely legal referendum that complied with all legal norms, but still few people recognized it, ”RIA Novosti quotes Aksenov.
As the head of the republic noted, recognition or non-recognition by any states does not depend on how these Ukrainian territories will be annexed.
“It is a matter of political will. This, of course, will be decided by the top management,” Aksyonov said.
On the eve it was reported that in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the level of pro-Russian sentiment is demonstrating a steady increase. As follows from a survey by the Crimean Republican Institute for Political and Sociological Research (RIPSI), conducted on the eve of the vote on the regions joining Russia, as of September 1–2, 86% of respondents in the Zaporozhye region support the region joining Russia. In the Kherson region, 76% of respondents are ready to vote for the region’s entry into Russia.
On the same day, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Natalya Nikonorova, said that the DPR authorities were negotiating recognition with seven countries – these are the states of Asia, Latin America and Africa. Work on the recognition of the republic is being carried out with almost all countries that have taken a neutral position in relation to the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine or supported it.
On August 30, the deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, said that the inhabitants of the region demand a vote due to constant shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, in August, the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, also announced his readiness to hold a referendum on joining Russia.
