An option regarding the adoption of a child will appear on the Diya portal

Through the Diya portal, it will be possible to apply for a consultation on the adoption of a child. You can apply for a consultation today, June 1, but all other features will gradually appear until the end of August. This was announced on June 1 on the air of “Snidanka z 1 + 1” by the adviser – the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the rights of the child and children’s rehabilitation Daria Gerasimchuk.

In addition, as Konstantin Koshelenko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitization, said at a briefing, a simplified procedure for filing an initial application for adoption has been launched in Ukraine today.

According to him, the government is implementing a draft simplified procedure for citizens who have expressed a desire to adopt a child through the Diya portal.

Recall that earlier the government simplified the mechanism for transferring a child temporarily evacuated (moved) to the territory of another state to an adoptive family. More details can be found at the link.

Previously, adoptive parents were required to personally pick up the child from the institution or the family in which he is brought up, in the presence of a representative of the service for children, now the procedure has been simplified. A number of children have already been adopted by US citizens.

So, at present, more than 6 thousand children have already been evacuated from various institutions, of which more than 3.7 thousand children have been evacuated from Ukraine, more than 4 thousand children have been evacuated as part of family forms of education, of which more than 3 thousand children limits of Ukraine.

Among them there are children whose adoption decision has already been made by the court. In particular, 5 children outside Ukraine were adopted by citizens of the United States and Italy, the relevant court decisions have already entered into force. Within two to three weeks, court decisions regarding another 10 orphans and children deprived of parental care adopted by citizens of the United States and Italy will come into force, the Ministry of Social Policy notes.

Prior to the adoption of this decision, the adoptive parents were obliged to personally pick up the child from the institution or family in which he is brought up, in the presence of a representative of the service for children.

Under martial law, the presence of a representative of the service for children abroad to transfer the child to adoptive parents is a big problem, therefore, the transfer of the child is provided for, subject to the entry into force of the relevant court decision in the presence of a representative of the consular institution of Ukraine.

Thus, the state ensures the implementation of the right of temporarily displaced children to be adopted, according to the Ukrainian government.
