Apple M2 chipset introduced

Apple has, quite unexpectedly, unveiled its new Apple M2 chipset. The processor is built on a second-generation 5-nm process technology and has 25% more transistors than the previous generation. The CPU’s architectural block has four strong and 4 power-efficient cores. For this reason, while maintaining the same power consumption, the performance has increased by 18% compared to the Apple M1. The chipset also got a new graphics accelerator, now has 1 core and increased performance by 35%.

Apple’s new chip has widened the gap in power per unit performance compared to desktop processors, in some cases five times the gap. Neural engines have also been improved, getting 40% faster. The chip supports 8K and ProRes video decoding, as well as external 6K display. Get the first innovation MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
