“Bastrykin instructed to initiate a criminal case, record all traces of criminal activity and take measures aimed at identifying the persons involved in the commission of this crime,” the report says.
It is noted that the course of the investigation of the case was put under control in the central office of the Investigative Committee.
Earlier that day, the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that a Ukrainian citizen had died as a result of shelling of the village of the Logachevka border checkpoint in the Belgorod region.
He also clarified that four victims with moderate injuries were taken to the Valuyskaya Central District Hospital. Three of them are citizens of Ukraine, one man is a resident of Logachevka.
Before that, on August 18, it became known that an ammunition depot caught fire near the village of Timonovo, Belgorod Region. According to Gladkov, there were no victims or casualties.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with Gladkov on August 8, suggested discussing security issues.
