He noted that more than 5 million Italians use the social network, of which 60% are under 30 years old.
The leader of the Forward Italia party stressed that he is a little jealous of the youth and wants to communicate with them in order to discuss the problems that concern them.
“We will discuss your future and how we want to make Italy a country that can give you new opportunities and a chance to fulfill your dreams,” Berlusconi added, promising to talk about the points of the party’s program ahead of the September 25 elections.
It also became known that the former head of the Italian government, Matteo Renzi, who heads the Living Italy political party, launched TikTok almost simultaneously with Berlusconi.
Earlier, on August 10, Berlusconi announced his intention to run for the upper house of parliament (senate) in the elections in September.
According to Politico, the 85-year-old politician could become a powerful behind-the-scenes “king-maker” in a new government that is likely to consist of an alliance of right-wing and centre-right forces.
Meanwhile, Elena Maslova, a senior researcher at the Institute of International Studies at MGIMO, on August 17 assessed the chances of the politician to again take the post of Prime Minister of Italy. According to the expert, his re-election is unlikely, including based on the mood of the Italians.
