Two days ago, on June 6, Chinese company Xiaomi officially unveiled their new set-top box Mi TV Box 4S Max – ITHome quoted its source as saying.
However, it should be noted immediately that the manufacturer has decided not to launch the gadget in a global release – the set-top box was only introduced in the Chinese market. This, of course, is not a problem (you can order the device directly from China), but it is still not possible to simply come to the store and buy a set-top box outside of China. At the same time, there is a significant set of benefits to innovation that are certainly worth paying attention to.
For example, the manufacturer confirms that the set-top box has adequate performance – for this reason, a system with four ARM Cortex-A55 cores and graphics accelerator Mali-G31 MP2 is placed on the AMLogic S905X3 chip inside the gadget.
The set-top box also gets 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory – for modern smartphones, of course, that’s not too much, but for the set-top box, the features are more than satisfactory. As a result, Xiaomi Mi TV Box 4S Max was able to realize a very interesting advantage – the set-top box not only in 4K, which is hardly surprising today, also supports video playback in 8K.
Of course, it is difficult to find quality movies, shows or any TV show right now, but the Mi TV Box 4S Max provides a margin for the future, when the content of such plans will be more popular. Also, the gadget is equipped with a Bluetooth wireless interface that allows you to connect various accessories (this protocol works with remote controls).
In addition, innovation for the built-in dual-band Wi-Fi adapter and HDMI 2.1 port can be appreciated. Xiaomi is selling the Mi Box 4S Max in China for just $ 75.
