The American company Apple officially introduced a new feature called “Lockdown Mode” at WWDC this year, which will appear in iOS 16 and is aimed at combating Pegasus and other malware.

“Lockdown mode” is an extremely strict security protection mode. Its main use case is when users suspect that a Trojan horse is in their mobile phone. Moreover, it also protects iPhone from being monitored by unknown sources.
When iPhone is in “Lockdown Mode”, the system blocks image attachments and link previews in most iMessages.
In addition, invitations through Apple services, such as FaceTime calls from unknown numbers, will be blocked. In this case, the iPhone data will be locked until the device is unlocked.
The user will not be able to install new remote control software, and the just-in-time compilation of Jacascrip will be disabled in the Safari browser.
At the same time, the description file will not be installed. “Lockdown Mode” will be available for testing by developers this summer, and the official release will take place this fall.
