Auto-tractor spare parts plant resumed work in Melitopol

The auto-tractor spare parts plant in Melitopol is resuming its work, Izvestia correspondent Mary Badunts was convinced.

According to her, since 2014 the plant has not exported products to the Russian market. For eight years, the company has lost profit twice. To stay afloat, the enterprise was redesigned into a defense one.

She clarified that for the past year, components for anti-aircraft installations and mortars of various calibers have been produced here. After demilitarization, the plant returned to a peaceful track.

For the first time in three months, the machines were fully operational at the plant. It manufactures parts for tractors, combines, cars. Workers, despite the threats of previous owners, are slowly returning to their jobs, Badunts said.

While supplies are being established, farmers are worried about the harvest. Most products are perishable: they may simply not be delivered to the point of sale.

But, taking into account all the difficulties, farmers do not give up. New city authorities promise to help. So, new subsidies are already being prepared, and another very significant decision is that all farmers and entrepreneurs are temporarily exempted from paying taxes.
