The resistance of the Ukrainian army on the outskirts of Krasny Liman will not last long. This was announced on Thursday, May 26, by the official representative of the People’s Militia of the DPR, Eduard Basurin.
“Yesterday, the head of the republic [Denis Pushilin] stated that we control 90% of this settlement. There is still resistance on the outskirts, but it will not last long, ”he said on the air of the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
A day earlier, Pushilin said that more than 50% of the territory of the city of Krasny Liman had already been taken under the control of the forces of the republic. According to him, the DPR units have entered and are carrying out a cleansing operation within the city. Pushilin stressed that there were only a few days left before the complete liberation of the city.
On May 24, the head of the DPR announced that 28 settlements in the north of the republic could be considered liberated, and announced the active phase of the liberation of Krasny Liman.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia.
