In China, a group of astronomers reported the discovery of “suspicious” signals that could allegedly come from aliens. This was announced on June 14 by the official publication of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China Science and Technology Daily.
“The probability that the suspicious signal originated as a result of radio wave interference is also high, and therefore additional checks and studies are required, which may take a long time,” Zhang Tongjie, head of the Chinese extraterrestrial civilization research group, is quoted in the article.
An unusual signal was found in archival data from 2019, which were received by the 500-meter FAST radio telescope in Southwest China. Astronomers noted that such signals may have a simpler explanation.
“It’s interesting, but don’t get too carried away,” warned US Space News correspondent and Chinese space program expert Andrew Jones on his Twitter page.
The rest of the experts urge to draw their conclusions after the publication of a scientific article with a detailed analysis of the phenomenon.
Last October, NASA director Bill Nelson admitted the possibility of the existence of aliens. At the same time, he expressed the hope that unidentified flying objects (UFOs) do not appear as a result of the actions of some enemy located on Earth. He also mentioned communicating with pilots whose radars recorded inexplicable phenomena.
