CPD exposes another fake of Russian propaganda – about the “cancellation of export sanctions”

Kremlin propagandists are trying to convince the public of the need to lift all sanctions against Russian exports in order to solve the problem of supplying Ukrainian grain to the world market.

The Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council announced this on Telegram, publishing a selection of fakes and manipulations that Russian propaganda spread on May 23, Ukrinform reports.

In particular, the Russian media, with reference to the head of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, spread the misinformative thesis that “by Biden’s irresponsibility, the West has driven itself into an unprecedented fuel crisis, and the sanctions against the Russian Federation have hit their initiators, since the cost of gasoline has already broken all records.”

In addition, the Russian media, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry, argue that “in order to solve the problem of supplying Ukrainian grain to the world market, all sanctions against Russian exports must first be lifted.”

The Center for Counteracting Disinformation warns that such Russian media reports are manipulation.

At the same time, according to the CPD, Alexander Lukashenko said that “the West is taking steps to ‘dismember’ Ukraine, and the official Minsk is alarming.” He also added that “Ukrainians will still have to beg Minsk and Moscow not to allow the” separation “of Western Ukraine.”

In this regard, the Center for Counteracting Disinformation notes that such statements are not true.

As Ukrinform reported, Russian propaganda is using Croatian MEP Mislav Kolakusic to spread fake news about the “ineffectiveness” of the sanctions imposed against Russia.
