Elon Musk said that SpaceX will accept payment in dogecoin

Dogecoin, a popular cryptocurrency token, will soon be accepted by SpaceX as payment, Elon Musk tweeted, prompting a sharp rise in the price of cryptocurrency as other cryptocurrencies fell.

“Tesla products can be bought from Doge, and soon SpaceX products,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

Products on the SpaceX website, including Occupy Mars T-shirts and a spacesuit, were still listed in dollars as of noon on Saturday.

Asked by Twitter if it was possible to pay for an Starlink online subscription in dog memes, Musk said, “Maybe one day.”

According to spacetv.net, SpaceX’s “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon” mission, the first space mission to be fully funded by cryptocurrency, is scheduled to launch in June.

On Friday night after the morning announcement, the Dogecoin Mask added to the price as other popular cryptocurrencies fell.

Dogecoin rose 4%, while Bitcoin fell 3% and Ethereum fell 8%, according to MarketWatch.
