In total, there are 15 defendants in the fire case. The owners and tenants of the facility received long sentences: the general director of the Kemerovo confectionery plant, the owner of the shopping center Yulia Bogdanova (14 years in prison), the technical director Georgy Sobolev (11 years), the general director Nadezhda Sudennok, the tenant (13.5 years). According to investigators, they united in an organized criminal group and only created the appearance of observing fire safety rules, but in fact they saved money.
On March 25, 2018, 60 people died in a fire at the Zimnyaya Cherry shopping center in Kemerovo, 37 of whom were children.
