He made up a story about saying goodbye to a friend: in Volyn, an evader who tried to cross the border was fined

The Volyn District Court fined a man from Chernihiv Oblast for attempting to cross the border with Poland.

He was detained 500 meters from the state border. During the search, a compass, maps of the area and a supply of food were found, according to the material of the court decision.

The man seems to be going to a friend of Yuriy’s in Lutsk, because “he is being taken to the war.” Therefore, he decided to “say goodbye and ask for forgiveness for possible insults.” He could not name the names, addresses and phone number of his friend.

According to the husband, he received a call from a common acquaintance with Yura and informed him that he was in the village of Mykhalye, Volyn region. He asked to purchase a military uniform for mobilization.

Investigators in the case file note that the accused was confused in his testimony. Then he allegedly came to the border village, but never met his acquaintance.

Because it was cold, he put on his uniform, and then started looking for a place to spend the night. I even went to the local church.

It was closed there, so he decided to walk to a nearby village, where he was detained by border guards at 00:30 on September 7.

The police officers found that the man had:

maps of the border area of the Volyn region with pencil-marked locations of DPSU units;
things and food packed in cellophane bags;
medical devices;
bactericidal wipes produced in Russia;
small coins of the Republic of Belarus;
a package with a crushed substance of plant origin;
bank card;
sheets of paper with records of mobile phone numbers;
folding knife;
compass.

The judge did not believe the detainee’s version and regarded the man’s actions as an attempt to illegally cross the border. For this he issued a fine of 4 thousand 250 hryvnias.

We will remind that at the end of July, the evader reported to the police about fraudsters who did not give him false documents for crossing the border.
