It is noted that the detainees were recruited by representatives of the terrorist organization BYPOL recognized in Belarus and the opposition abroad.
According to the channel, they received tasks to plant bombs from a chat bot in one of the messengers. It is specified that the suspects give confessions and cooperate with the investigation.
As stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus Gennady Kazakevich, the preparation of terrorist attacks was a project of Western intelligence services, which financed their preparation.
“This initiative is nothing but a project of Western intelligence agencies, generously funded and promoted for a long time. What is characteristic: recently, including in connection with the SVO in Ukraine, this project involves the violent overthrow of state power in the republic, ”he told the TV channel.
On October 14, President Alexander Lukashenko introduced a regime of heightened terrorist threat in Belarus. On the same day, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei told Izvestiya that a counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime was being introduced in the country amid reports of impending provocations from nearby states. He made an attempt to seize certain parts of the country’s territory.
On October 13, Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich promised to fight back in case of violation of the state borders of the republic. At the same time, he stated that Minsk does not intend to get involved in conflicts and present territorial claims to other countries.
Prior to that, on October 10, Lukashenko said that in Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine, militants from among the Belarusian radicals were being trained to carry out terrorist attacks in Belarus. On the same day, he stated that Belarus had been warned about an attack from the territory of Ukraine.
