In Russia, new cases have been opened on Google and Meta

Russian bailiffs have filed new lawsuits against Google and Meta for fines of $ 4 million and $ 13 million, respectively.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Interfax with reference to the database of the Federal Bailiffs Service, updated on May 30.

On May 24, Google was prosecuted for a fine of 4 million rubles based on the decision of the Tagansky court in Moscow. According to the decision of the same court on May 17, three cases were initiated against Meta for a total of 13 million rubles.

Last week, it became known that the bailiffs fully charged Google with a fine and fees of more than 7.7 billion rubles, intended for refusing to remove content banned in Russia.

In April, enforcement proceedings were instituted against Meta for a revolving fine of more than 1.9 billion rubles for the same “offense.”

This news came against the background of a full-scale war waged by Russia in Ukraine.
