In the Kursk region reported about the shelling of the border village

In the Kursk region, the border village of Gordeevka was shelled, the firing point was found and quickly eliminated. The corresponding statement was made on June 17 by the governor of the region Roman Starovoit.

“Today, at about five o’clock in the morning, mortars were fired at the border village of Gordeevka in the Korenevsky district. The enemy firing point was quickly suppressed, there were no casualties, and there were no significant damages. According to preliminary data, windows were broken in some houses. The situation is completely under the control of our border guards and the military,” Starovoit said in his Telegram channel.

The village of Gordeevka was shelled before. In particular, Starovoit reported on strikes against this settlement on June 6. Then, as a result of a strike from a drone, two servicemen were injured, there were no dead or injured among civilians. The buildings were not damaged either.

The Kursk region is regularly shelled. So, on June 15, Starovoit spoke about the strikes inflicted on the Krupets checkpoint in the Rylsky district. The shelling was recorded at 7:30 am (the time coincides with Moscow time), there were no casualties or damage as a result of the attack.

On June 6, shelling of the border village of Tetkino was recorded in the region. The blows damaged a residential building and outbuildings to it, as well as a bridge. There were no casualties among the residents.

Due to ongoing shelling in the region, the “yellow” level of terrorist threat was extended on June 9. Starovoit noted that its introduction helped save the lives and health of citizens and prevent terrorist attacks planned for the May holidays.

In the Donbass, a special operation of the Russian Federation to protect the population of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics continues, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. Moscow explained that its tasks include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.

The situation in the region escalated significantly in mid-February due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the evacuation of residents to Russia and turned to Moscow for help. On February 21, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DNR and LNR.
