Metrics of Jewish communities for the 18th-20th centuries will become available online

The State Archives of Ukraine has announced that it is going to digitize 13,600,000 sheets of genealogical documents over the next few years.

At the same time, 1,400,000 of them are planned to be transferred to electronic form already in the current 2022.

Among the millions of sheets of genealogical documents, it is planned to digitize the metrics of Kanevskaya, Pereyaslavskaya, Vasilkovskaya, Skvirskaya Lipovetskaya, Tarashchanskaya, Kievskaya, Umanskaya, Zvenigorodskaya, Radomyshlskaya and other Jewish communities for the 18th and early 20th centuries.

Orthodox Church and Roman Catholic documents will also be available online.

New equipment for digitizing documents has already been installed at the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine in Kyiv.
