In the first quarter of 2022, Apple’s share of the smartwatch market reached 36.1 percent – a year ago it was 35.9 percent. The closest competitor – Samsung – increased its share from 7.8 to 10.1 percent over the year. In third place was Huawei, which received 7.2 percent of the market.
Below in the open ranking were Xiaomi, Garmin, Amazfit, Imoo and Fitbit. According to analysts, Apple’s share is likely to grow by the end of this year, but Samsung will also increase its market presence. It is specified that global sales of smart watches increased by 13 percent in the first quarter of 2022 compared to last year.
“Apple accounted for more than a third of last year’s total, and it is increasing its influence even more,” said Counterpoint Deputy Director Sujon Lim. According to experts, the popularity of the watch from Apple is due to the high loyalty of iPhone users – especially among young people.
