The National Bank received court permission for the forced sale of the property of the Kyiv Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant as a guarantor for the obligations of Konstantin Zhevago’s Finance and Credit Bank.
This was reported by the press service of the National Bank.
On October 3, the Commercial Court of the city of Kyiv satisfied the corresponding application of the NBU and allowed the sale of the plant’s property as part of the enforcement proceedings outside the bankruptcy procedure.
The plant associated with Zhevago is a property guarantor for the obligations of his bank Finance and Credit to the NBU for a total amount of more than UAH 4 billion.
The NBU says that such a court decision will contribute to the speedy sale of property. “Thus, the dependence on the course of the bankruptcy procedure with all its restrictions and possible abuses by unscrupulous participants is eliminated,” explains Serhiy Boyko, head of the department for legal work with problematic assets of the NBU. “At the same time, the implementation of the mechanism for satisfying claims is significantly reduced in time, especially by a court decision that has entered into legal force.”
