Russian aircraft shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft over Kramatorsk

Russian aircraft shot down a plane of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) over Kramatorsk. This was announced on May 24 at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov.

“Russian fighter aircraft shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft near Kramatorsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” he said.

In addition, over the past 24 hours, Russian air defense systems shot down five Ukrainian drones in the Chernobaevka districts of the Kherson region, as well as Didrovnoe, Kamenka, Pitomnik, Malye Prohody of the Kharkiv region.

On May 23, the Russian defense ministry said that Russian air defense systems shot down three Su-25 aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Kiselevka, Kherson region, and over Pavlograd, Kharkov region. 13 Ukrainian drones were also shot down.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces had destroyed Ukrainian equipment in the Zhytomyr region with high-precision missiles, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferring to Donbass.

On May 18, it was reported that Russian air defense shot down two more Ukrainian aircraft – Su-25 and MiG-29.
