On Sunday, May 29, the Russian Defense Ministry announced new exploits of the Russian military during a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass.
The department spoke about the courage of the commander of the automobile department, Sergeant Ivan Synkov. It is noted that he repeatedly made marches, during which he delivered ammunition, food, medical equipment, and also evacuated the wounded.
During the transportation of the wounded to one of the field hospitals, the military discovered a group of armed nationalists. Together with the senior machine, they decided to join the battle. During a short-lived clash, a group of nationalists was destroyed. This made it possible to deliver the wounded soldiers to the field hospital without loss.
According to the Ministry of Defense, a few days later, during the liberation of one of the settlements from the nationalists, the enemy used artillery and hit a residential building with civilians. A fire broke out as a result of a projectile hitting the house. Synkov carried three children and two women out of the burning house, and also provided them with first aid.
As clarified in the Ministry of Defense, the competent actions of Lieutenant Andrei Bagrov allowed the Russian battalion tactical groups to advance deep into the enemy’s defenses. It is noted that from the first days of the special operation, the serviceman has been performing tasks of artillery support for Russian units. Thanks to his professional skills, timely and accurate calculations on targets, as well as the skillful organization of the work of subordinate personnel, three Grad MLRS combat vehicles and 12 nationalists included in the calculation of military vehicles were hit. After changing firing positions, the personnel of the rocket artillery battery under the leadership of Lieutenant Bagrov destroyed the enemy stronghold, including about 20 nationalists.
The defense department also spoke about the bold and decisive actions of the driver, corporal Denis Abramov, who performed the tasks of guarding and defending the field fleet of the division’s combat vehicles. At night, while on patrol, he discovered two Ukrainian saboteurs approaching the park. Assessing the situation, Abramov immediately entered the battle, during which he destroyed one saboteur and detained the second.
The serviceman found explosives from the detained Ukrainian nationalist, with the help of which he wanted to undermine the combat vehicles of the division. During the interrogation, the saboteur reported the locations of the military equipment of the nationalists. The Ministry of Defense pointed out that the actions of the corporal made it possible to protect the field fleet of military vehicles from the sabotage actions of the nationalists.
On the eve of the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that the Russian Armed Forces shot down two Ukrainian Su-25s and a Mi-8 helicopter in a day. In addition, Russian aviation destroyed more than 250 Ukrainian nationalists in a day.
According to him, in just a day, 84 units of weapons and military equipment were disabled, including nine tanks and five installations of the Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).
On the same day, it became known that the city of Krasny Liman was completely liberated from Ukrainian nationalists as a result of the joint actions of the people’s militia units of the DPR and the Russian armed forces.
Russia continues the special operation to protect the Donbass, the beginning of which President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. The key goals of the Russian military are the denazification and demilitarization of the Kyiv regime. This is necessary to ensure the security of the Russian state and people. Moscow also emphasized that it does not hatch plans for the occupation of Ukraine, and strikes are carried out only on military infrastructure.
The situation in the region escalated in mid-February due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2014, the Ukrainian authorities have been carrying out a military operation against the residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état in Ukraine.
