School graduates of the Kherson region wanted to enter Russian universities

In the Kherson region, school graduates express a desire to enter Russian universities, at the moment the issue of providing such an opportunity is being considered. This was announced on May 28 by Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the region.

“[Graduates expect] to enter Russian universities. I know that for Ukraine, for the liberated territories, there is a certain benefit for admission. Work is now underway on this at all levels, ”TASS quotes him as saying.

Stremousov added that currently only a few graduates are trying to pass the USE this year according to Russian requirements, while the question of obtaining documents on graduation remains open.

He clarified that the authorities of the region, together with the leadership of the Crimea, the DPR and the LPR, are ready to help with the issuance of certificates.

The day before, an order was signed by the head of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, according to which the Melitopol State University was established, it will function in accordance with Russian educational standards. The opening of the university will make it possible to adapt the new educational institution to the education system of the Russian Federation as much as possible, the authorities of the region noted.

On the same day, Aleksey Selivanov, deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Zaporozhye region, told Izvestia that about 86% of the region’s population wanted to obtain a Russian passport. Either pro-Russian-minded residents or neutral ones remained on the territory of the region, he specified.

Also on Friday, Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of Crimea on information policy, said that Russian mobile operators had entered the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, which allowed residents to begin the process of switching to the telephone code +7.

As Oleg Matveychev, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, noted, this decision is due to the fact that these regions faced problems with telephone communications after they came under the control of the Russian military.

On May 25, it became known that the Zaporizhia region will head for joining Russia. According to Vladimir Rogov, a representative of the regional administration, the plans are to create a full-fledged subject within the Russian Federation – the Zaporozhye Republic. He noted that the population of the Zaporozhye region is “absolutely Russian in mentality.”

On February 24, Russia launched an operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass against the backdrop of escalation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. As specified in Moscow, the goals of the special operation are also the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
