Sergey Kupriyanov, press secretary of the head of the board of Gazprom, became the chairman of the board of directors of VK

VK co-founder Dmitry Grishin stepped down in mid-May 2022.

  • The appointment was announced by VK. Sergey Kupriyanov has been on the Board of Directors since December 14, 2021 as a non-executive director. Since 2003, he also worked as a press secretary for the chairman of the board of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, since 2018, Kupriyanov has been a member of the board of directors of Gazprom-media.
  • Maria Zybina has also been appointed to the position of non-executive director. She is an executive vice president of Gazprombank and is responsible for managing digital assets.
  • On May 11, VK co-founder Dmitry Grishin stepped down as chairman of the company’s board of directors and non-executive director. He has worked for Mail.ru Group (formerly VK) since its founding in 2000.
  • In December 2021, Gazprom-Media took from Gazprombank a stake in the company that controls the VK group.
