The authorities of the Kherson region continue to identify sabotage groups, but their activity is declining. This was announced on Thursday, May 26, by the deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the region, Kirill Stremousov.

“Bodies of the Ministry of State Security <…> constantly identify sabotage groups and partisans who, at the level of “couch troops”, continue to threaten the inhabitants of Kherson and the Kherson region, but this issue is becoming a fundamental news center less and less often,” he said on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”.
On May 21, an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was eliminated in the Kherson region. He transmitted data on the location of the Russian troops. In addition, it was noted that he planned attacks. During the arrest, he opened fire and wanted to use a grenade, but was liquidated on the spot.
On April 30, in Kherson, the activities of a group of saboteurs who attacked businessmen were stopped. Members of the sabotage and reconnaissance group attacked the apartments and offices of businessmen and extorted money. During the arrest, officers of the Russian Guard confiscated machine guns, Turkish-made cartridges, as well as pistols and traumatic weapons from them.
On April 29, servicemen of the Russian Guard found and seized weapons in a children’s camp near Kherson. Two pistols of the Bernardelli brand, one pistol magazine, 292 cartridges of various calibers, an integral part of the weapon and two packages were confiscated. The National Guard added that the weapons were stored in a safe in one of the offices in the administrative building of the children’s camp.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
