Ukrainian militants deliberately set fire to fields in the liberated part of Zaporozhye and destroy elevators. This was announced on September 6 to TASS by the head of the military-civilian administration (VGA) Yevgeny Balitsky.

As he noted, the fields are set on fire from the Ukrainian side, the fire goes downwind.
“Nevertheless, we extinguish both the fields and plantings, which then burn,” the head of the VGA noted.
In his opinion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are acting to provoke a food disaster.
“All this is being destroyed in order to create an ecological and food catastrophe, so that people are afraid to live here, so that they do not want to work here, but live and work,” he explained.
In addition, as he noted, the port of Berdyansk cannot operate at full capacity for grain exports due to sanctions. While it is used to ship scrap metal, Balitsky added.
In July, it was reported that in Zaporozhye, as well as in the Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions, Ukrainian militants, using helicopters and artillery, purposefully set fire to fields with grain.
Part of the Zaporozhye region (Priazovye) was liberated during a special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. In May, the authorities of the Zaporozhye region announced their desire to become part of Russia.
