The commander of the Strategic Missile Forces said that there are no analogues of the Sarmat in the world

The commander of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN), Sergei Karakaev, said that the Russian strategic missile system “Sarmat” today has no analogues in the world.

“Today we need to talk about the Sarmat complex as a unique complex, which today has no analogues in the world,” he said in the Military Acceptance program on the Zvezda TV channel.

In addition, the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces named the fundamental differences between an intercontinental ballistic missile and the Voyevoda missile.

“The first one I would call is a shortened active section of the trajectory. The second is the energy power of today’s complex, which allows you to have a large amount of combat equipment, ”Karakaev said.

As another important difference, he named the security of the Sarmat “in terms of the materials used both for the rocket itself and for the silo launchers.”

On May 22, Roskosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin published a video showing what the funnel looks like, which the Sarmat intercontinental missile leaves in the event of a strike on a certain territory. Rogozin warned that the “aggressors” should talk more politely with Russia.

As the general director of Roskosmos stated, tests of the newest Russian intercontinental rocket Sarmat will go on throughout 2022. It is planned to put the first mass-produced missiles on combat duty at the end of this autumn.

Speaking about the power of the Sarmat, Rogozin said on May 19 that only one Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) could destroy half of the coast of the continent.

On April 20, Russia successfully conducted a test launch of the Sarmat missile. This launch was the first in a series of state tests, after which the Sarmat will enter service with the Strategic Missile Forces.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin noted, there are no analogues of the Sarmat. The Russian leader stressed that this complex is a unique weapon that will strengthen the combat potential of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as reliably ensure Russia’s security from external threats.

Last September, Rogozin expressed hope that Russia would not have to resort to using the Sarmat. However, according to him, the presence of such a potential provides the country with 30-40 years of “absolutely calm independent life of citizens.”

After the completion of the test program, the missile system will go into service with the Strategic Missile Forces. The promising complex “Sarmat” will replace the “Voevoda” missiles. The new missile has expanded the range of combat equipment both in terms of the number of warheads and types. In addition, the missile is capable of hitting targets at long ranges, using various flight paths, and is guaranteed to overcome any existing and future missile defense systems.
