The educational marathon of the Russian society “Knowledge” has ended

More than 12,000 young people gathered at the five venues of the marathon, and parallel online broadcasts from studios in different cities gained over 120 million views in three days.

A huge audience gathered at the screens of computers, tablets and smartphones to watch the New Horizons federal educational marathon, which took place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, and the Moscow Region and was available online to all residents of the country. Broadcasts of events from five studios aroused increased public interest and in three days, from May 17 to May 19, scored more than 1 million likes and comments on social networks.

The program of the educational marathon made it possible to convey to the Russians relevant, reliable information, which is especially needed now, against the backdrop of many fakes and attempts to distort the historical truth about Russia. Thanks to the speeches of more than 200 outstanding lecturers and mentors, the participants of the marathon were able to delve into the true history of our country in the context of the past and future, to understand the role of Russia in the world and the prospects that open up for Russians in the social sphere, business and entrepreneurship.

The head of the National Technology Initiative program, Alexander Stepanov, was asked questions in which areas blockchain technology should first be introduced, whether it can lead to the disappearance of banks and help science, what determines the rise or fall of bitcoin. The guys asked the president of the Southern Federal University Marina Borovskoy what graduates of what specialties are most in demand and how things are going with the brain drain in Russia.

The geography of the educational marathon “New Horizons” was not limited to five studios in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and the Moscow region. The program included more than 50 video tours of the country’s unique places – they were conducted by governors and business leaders, scientists and cultural figures. The participants of the marathon got acquainted with the Energia rocket and space corporation in Korolev and the Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics, the A. Ya. Mara, the seaport of Sabetta of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, where advanced gas liquefaction technologies are used.

As part of the New Horizons marathon, the final of the first All-Russian Educational Games for high school students took place. 528 students of 9th-11th grades of secondary schools and 1st-2nd courses of secondary schools showed their abilities, who won in the individual standings of the regional stage of the games. The guys united in 88 teams – six finalists each from all subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as teams from the Big Change community, the Russian Movement of Schoolchildren and Yunarmiya – and fought in the all-around in intellectual and sports disciplines at the Moscow marathon site in pavilion No. 57 “Russia — My story” at VDNKh.

The top three winners of the finals of the Educational Games included teams from the Arkhangelsk, Voronezh and Amur regions. They are followed by the teams of the Orenburg region, the city of Moscow, the Murmansk and Chelyabinsk regions, the city of Sevastopol, the Astrakhan and Yaroslavl regions.

During all three days of the marathon, the finalists of the Educational Games participated in the photo contest: they posted their photos with the hashtags #RussianSocietyKnowledge, #ROS, #MarathonNewHorizons. The winners were 10 photo authors who received the most likes, comments and reposts, they received prizes – merch from Knowledge and smart speakers VK Capsule Mini with Marusya’s voice assistant.

Awarding the winners of the Educational Hackathon

Another significant event was the pitching of the leaders of the educational hackathon of the Knowledge Society, which took place on April 27-28 in Moscow. The winners of the final stage were chosen in the New Horizons marathon studio, organized at the 26th Russian Internet Forum in the Moscow Region, where the development of information technologies was discussed.

According to the results of the pitching, the NUST MISIS team MISiShunters (Moscow) took the first place, and the main prize was the opportunity to refine their prototype to a finished product. The guys proposed to create a digital service based on the virtual voice assistant Alice of the Yandex company. It will involve young people in the Knowledge League project and make the educational process more accessible and exciting. In fact, this is a virtual quiz with the format and content corresponding to the Knowledge League.

The other leading teams of the educational hackathon — Roots, AR Lab, Legend 17 and Cosmokadry, Security League, Pros of the 21st Century and League of Streamers — are recommended for participation in the Sberbank youth acceleration program. “.

The media partners of the marathon were the TV and radio broadcasting company VGTRK, Komsomolskaya Pravda media group, Izvestia Information Center, media holdings FederalPress, Rambler&Co, 1MI and Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

The total broadcast time of informative and exciting lectures, open dialogues, discussions, and master classes that took place as part of the marathon exceeded 220 hours.
