The government will allocate almost 1 billion rubles for the purchase of state symbols for schools

The Russian government will allocate about 1 billion rubles to Russian regions for the purchase of state symbols in schools. This is stated in the draft order of the Cabinet, which is at the disposal of TASS.

It is noted that the budget will be allocated as part of the federal project “Patriotic education of citizens of Russia.”

“To send budgetary allocations from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation to provide subsidies from the federal budget to the budgets of the regions … in the amount of 970.92 million rubles in 2022,” the document says.

As follows from the text, the money will be used to purchase goods, works and services “in order to equip state and municipal educational institutions with the state symbols of the Russian Federation.”

On May 11, the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) presented the results of a survey that showed that the vast majority of Russians are in favor of raising the flag and singing the anthem before the school week, and also have a positive attitude towards conducting lessons dedicated to the special operation to protect Donbass.

Earlier, on April 25, at the beginning of the school week, the Russian anthem was played for the first time in 89 schools in the Tver region and the national flag was raised.

Prior to this, on April 22, the Ministry of Education of Tatarstan told Izvestiya that in the region, from September 1, the anthems of Russia and the republic itself will be played in all schools.

On April 19, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov announced that the performance of the anthem at the beginning of the school week would be held in every school from September 1 of the next academic year. This event will be accompanied by the raising of the national flag, he added.

Member of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Elena Pisareva called this idea correct.

The idea was also supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On April 4, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov spoke about what it means to show patriotism. In his opinion, the manifestation of true patriotism is love for the Motherland and readiness for any sacrifice for the sake of one’s country. Peskov also noted that in the question of who is more a patriot, “competition is hardly needed.” According to him, at present the people must be united.
