The head of the German regulator – about the malfunction of the Nord Stream: now everything depends on everyone

The head of the Federal Network Agency of Germany, Klaus Müller, on Friday commented on Gazprom’s statement about the alleged malfunction of the Nord Stream compressor turbine, due to which the gas pipeline will not be operated for an indefinite period.

According to European Pravda, Muller posted his comment on Twitter.

“Given Russia’s decision not to supply gas via Nord Stream for the time being, LNG terminals, proper storage fill levels and demands for substantial savings become even more important. It’s good that Germany is now better prepared (for this), but now everything depends on each of us,” he said.

The Russian gas company Gazprom on Friday evening announced a complete halt in gas pumping through the Nord Stream pipeline due to a fault in the only Portovaya compressor station that continues to operate.

They claim that during maintenance work on the Trent 60 gas compressor unit, an oil leak was detected at the connectors of the terminal connections of cable lines.
