It is noted that the artillery units of the RF Armed Forces perform fire missions to destroy the firing positions of artillery and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU), strongholds, command posts and areas of concentration of Ukrainian military equipment.

It is specified that during the special operation, the crews of self-propelled artillery installations (ACS) “Malka” delivered accurate strikes on designated targets at long ranges.
Thus, the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were fortified in the forest, were destroyed by the fire of self-propelled artillery installations “Malka”.
“Artillerymen revealed the location of enemy positions and struck. Well-coordinated crews of the 203-mm self-propelled guns “Malka” conducted live firing from closed firing positions with high-explosive fragmentation shells at a distance of up to 40 km,” the ministry said.
On the eve of the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that the Russian Armed Forces shot down two Ukrainian Su-25s and a Mi-8 helicopter in a day. In addition, Russian aviation destroyed more than 250 Ukrainian nationalists in a day.
In just 24 hours, 84 units of weapons and military equipment were put out of action, including nine tanks and five installations of the Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).

On the same day, servicemen of the RF Armed Forces repelled a counterattack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which tried to regain control of the stronghold. Airborne troops destroyed two armored personnel carriers and about 20 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the attack was successfully repulsed.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia.
