The Ministry of Defense spoke about the new exploits of the Russian military in a special operation

On Sunday, June 26, the Russian Defense Ministry announced new exploits of the Russian military during a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass.

The department noted the bold and decisive actions of Senior Ensign Igor Voinov. As part of the engineering units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, he performed the task of clearing the area from explosive objects on the territory of settlements liberated from Ukrainian nationalists.

Moving through the mined area, warrant officer Voinov discovered an enemy detachment. The employee promptly reported to the command about the impending provocation and, together with other military engineers, entered the battle. As a result of the confrontation, a group of nationalists suffered heavy losses and was forced to retreat, leaving their weapons and ammunition behind.

Later, the Russian military returned to the original task of demining. In the course of work, Igor Voinov personally discovered and defused 8 mines. Thus, thanks to the efforts of the senior warrant officer, not only a section of the liberated territory was cleared, but also a detachment of saboteurs was neutralized.

Also, the Ministry of Defense spoke about the courage of private Alexei Marin. Together with a battalion-tactical group of Russian paratroopers, he participated in the liberation of strategically important areas from formations of Ukrainian radicals.

Following the paved route at night, Marin discovered a group of nationalists armed with small arms and a grenade launcher preparing an attack on the convoy. Instantly orienting himself in the situation, the private at full speed sent the car to the enemy group, which caused panic among the saboteurs and forced them to randomly change positions. The employee took on enemy fire, thanks to which the main forces gained time to regroup.

Subsequently, Marin took an active part in the confrontation, providing competent sectors of fire to the gunner-operator. The combat vehicle of the private was hit by a grenade launcher, however, despite the concussion he received, he continued to attack the enemy. As a result of the selfless actions of the employee, a group of nationalists of up to 30 people was completely liquidated.

In addition, the Defense Ministry reported on the high professionalism of Corporal Artemy Artyunin, who from the first days of the special operation carried out uninterrupted supply of material and technical equipment to the Airborne Forces grouping to the line of contact with the nationalist forces.

During the delivery of the next batch of MTO, the convoy, in which Artyunin worked, was attacked by Ukrainian soldiers. One of the vehicles in front was seriously damaged by an artillery shell that exploded nearby and lost speed, blocking the movement of the column in a difficult area. Then, risking his own life, the corporal went to the wrecked car to rescue his wounded colleagues.

Artyunin transferred the three crew members to his car, where he provided them with emergency medical care. After that, the serviceman took the damaged equipment in tow and delivered it to its destination. Competent actions of Corporal Artyunin made it possible to save the lives of the injured soldiers, as well as to prevent the enemy from seizing weapons and logistics supplies of the Russian Armed Forces.

The day before, the defense department announced the destruction of more than 300 employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and mercenaries in the area of Nikolaev of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) per day.

On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
