The nutritionist called the differences between emotional and physical hunger

Gastroenterologist, nutritionist Nuria Dianova told how emotional hunger differs from physical hunger.

In a conversation with Vechernyaya Moskva on Thursday, May 26, the specialist advised to estimate the time that has passed since the last meal.

“We need to check the regime. The optimal regimen for the health of the gastrointestinal tract will be four meals: three main and one proper snack, ”explained Dianova.

She emphasized that people who lead an active lifestyle may need more snacks.

The doctor noted that if an interval of three to four hours is observed, then the appearance of a feeling of hunger is considered quite natural.

As for emotional hunger, according to the expert, it can occur against the background of regular stress. She explained that if something happened, it would not be hunger, but “a desire to feel sorry for yourself a little.”

Other causes of emotional hunger include lack of sleep and unbalanced nutrition, writes RT.

On May 15, it became known that doctors in the United States called bad eating habits that can harm health and shorten life expectancy. These include excessive water intake, intermittent fasting, and uncontrolled intake of nutritional supplements.
