The white hacker, who tried to save millions of lost dollars, received only $ 64

Joe Grand, a computer engineer and hacker known to recover cryptocurrencies from hard-to-reach places (such as locked phones), hacked the phone just to find $ 64.

Grand traveled from Portland to Seattle to potentially return “millions of dollars” in bitcoins (BTC) from a Samsung Galaxy SIII phone owned by a local bus operator. For unknown reasons, the company acquired BTC in July 2016, paying a person in a cafe in cash and keeping the cryptocurrency in a wallet on the phone. Access to the wallet was later lost.

After some microsoldering, loading memory and discovering a Samsung access pattern, the hacker regained access to the MyCelium wallet and found only 0.300 861 BTC, which is now $ 64.
