Toyota suspends 10 factories in Japan

Toyota will temporarily suspend the work of 10 factories in Japan due to disruptions in the supply of components. This was announced on Tuesday, May 24, by the press service of the automaker.

“Due to the shortage of components amid the lockdown in Shanghai, we have decided to stop the work of some of our factories in May and June,” the message says.

It is noted that from May 25 to May 27, 16 lines will be stopped at 10 plants of the company in Japan. In addition, four more lines at three plants will be stopped from 1 to 3 June.

On March 18, Toyota suspended 18 production lines at 11 plants in Japan following the earthquake.

On March 10, it became known that Toyota would temporarily stop the production of its cars in Russia and their export to the country due to supply difficulties. Nevertheless, the company said that there were no plans to close the brand’s Russian plant, work was simply suspended.
