Trains without drivers will appear on the Yamanote Circle Line

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to rollingstock.

So, in the Japanese capital, there has long been an automated Yurikamome line, but now they want to entrust artificial intelligence with the most popular route in a city with gigantic crowds of passengers.

The idea will be tested for two months (on live people), and if everything goes well, then by 2028 Yamanote will completely switch to the new system. The reasons are clear: the population in the country is aging, there are not enough workers, so where possible, they will be replaced by automation.
