Turchak proposed to create a special economic zone in Donbass

It is proposed to create a special economic zone on the territory of Donbass. This was announced on Thursday, May 26, by Andrei Turchak, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party, at the Entrepreneurship in the New Economic Reality forum.

“We propose to work out the possibility of creating a special economic zone on the territory of Donbass,” he said.

Turchak also proposed to ensure the return of a certain share of capital costs in the construction of production facilities.

On May 23, a dual-currency zone was introduced in the Kherson region. According to the head of the military-civilian administration (VGA) of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo, the Russian ruble will be in circulation along with the hryvnia. According to him, the first branch of the Russian bank will open in Kherson in the near future.

On May 1, the region introduced rubles into circulation. On May 9, it became known that in the Kherson region they began to pay pensions in rubles. The first to receive it were residents of Genichesk, located near the Crimea.

In the city of Melitopol, Zaporozhye region, local residents also began to pay in rubles along with the hryvnia from May 2.

On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
