Two days ago, it became known that in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, local residents lost access to mobile communications from Ukrainian operators. Focus learned from companies about the reasons for the termination of networks.

Vodafone reported that a number of base stations “in this region” (the request concerned the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions – ed.) do not work due to a lack of power supply and a break in fiber-optic communication lines.
“Physical access to many facilities for repair work is not yet available,” the press service stressed.
Kyivstar stated that in some settlements in the temporarily occupied territories there were difficulties in the operation of mobile communication services.
“This is due to the fact that the invaders cut off the power supply for the telecommunications equipment of Ukrainian mobile operators. In particular, in the cities of Kherson, Melitopol, Berdyansk,” the official response to Focus reads.
The operator also expressed regret that at the moment employees do not have access to telecom network facilities in temporarily occupied settlements, which makes it impossible to carry out repair and restoration work.
“At the same time, all personal data of customers are securely protected,” Kyivstar stressed.
Recall that yesterday the State Service for Special Communications and Communications confirmed that coverage provided by Ukrainian operators was lost in the Kherson region. The service did not specify the names of the companies, however, local residents wrote in the comments on the operators’ pages on the Faebook social network that they did not have access to the Kyivstar and Vodafone networks. But there was access to Lifecell.

Earlier, we wrote that the residents of the Kherson region are being issued SIM-cards by Russian operators – 5 pieces per hand. In return, Ukrainians are offered to sign “certain documents in support of the occupying power” or allow them to take pictures of their passports. The regional state administration urged the Ukrainians not to cooperate with the Russians.
