This year, Ukrainians will not have additional days off in April and May due to martial law.
April 25, May 2 and May 9 will be working days, which will be paid in the usual way.
This was reported by the State Labor Service of Ukraine.
“Article 73 of the Labor Code of Ukraine establishes 9 holidays (including May 1 – Labor Day, May 9 – Victory Day over Nazism in World War II),” – said in a statement.
There are also 4 non-working days in Ukraine – religious holidays on which people do not work (January 7 and December 25 – Christmas, as well as Easter and Trinity).
Under Ukrainian law, if a day off coincides with a holiday or non-working day, it is postponed to the next day after them.
In the spring of 2022, the days off were to be Mondays, April 25 (postponement of the day off from April 24), May 2 (postponement of the day off from May 1) and May 9 (holiday).
However, the article defining holidays and non-working days is suspended under martial law.
Therefore, this spring Ukrainians will not have additional days off.
