Some of the stolen assets of the cryptocurrency exchange Osmosis will be returned to liquidity pools, representatives of the decentralized platform said.
The attack took place on Wednesday night. First, a post appeared on Reddit by one of the programmers, who pointed out an error in the cryptocurrency liquidity pool. It allowed to withdraw from the cryptocurrency 50% more money than was invested. And such an operation could be carried out indefinitely.
Twelve minutes after the record appeared, the cryptocurrency exchange stopped operating its blockchain. But at this point, $ 5 million was withdrawn from the stock exchange by six unknown individuals. Two of them, who withdrew about $ 2 million, agreed to return the “stolen” funds.
