Vladimir Putin’s ally proud 15,550mph Satan 2 missiles will be ready for battle in the autumn

Dmitry Rogozin, head of Russia’s space agency, boasted to schoolgirls about the country’s hypersonic missiles, but experts noted the ongoing threat and took pride in diverting attention from a combat attack.

One of Russia’s Satan 2 hypersonic missiles could “destroy half the coast of a continent,” proud of one of Vladimir Putin’s allies.

Dmitry Rogzin, head of Russia’s Roscosmos space agency, showed schoolgirls and students some of the deadliest missiles in his country’s arsenal at an education conference yesterday.

He wore his space agency uniform and showed a video of a series of Russian strategic missiles at a “federal education marathon” called “New Horizons.”

It ends by showing them their Sarmat, also known as Satan-2, an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of hitting a target at a speed of 15,880 miles per hour.

“Here you see the test launch of our missile,” he boasted.

He added: “The smallest ones are shown in the parade in Red Square. The big ones don’t fit in the Red Square because they are so big.

“Now you can see the Topol, Years, Bulava anti-submarine missiles [in the video], and finally Sarmat.

“Such a rocket [Sarmat] could destroy half the coast of a large continent, which we cannot like because of its aggressive policy.”

Rogzin said the “irresistible” Satan II would “take charge of the war” next autumn.

“We also produce Iskander and Hypersonic Kinzel in our factory,” Rogjin added.

The Satan-2 missile is nuclear-capable, and is the latest in a long line of covert threats posed by Russian officials and state-media propagandists.

Some experts say the threat of a nuclear attack is an attempt to cover up an otherwise weak military operation in Ukraine.

On Wednesday, it was claimed that a new mobile laser beam system called Peresvet could “blind” all “enemy” satellite recovery systems up to about 1,000 miles in orbit.

Vice Premier boasts a separate laser system capable of intercepting enemy drones.

However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky laughed, comparing the claims to Nazi propaganda.

In a late-night speech, he said: “The more it becomes clear that they have no chance of war, the more an amazing weapon will be promoted which will be so powerful as to ensure a turning point.

“And so we see that in the third month of the all-out war, Russia is trying to find its ‘silver bullet’ … all of this clearly demonstrates the complete failure of the mission.”

It comes as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues towards the end of the third month since Putin’s forces launched their “special operation” on February 24.

Thousands have died since then, with Russia the worst hit.

According to the United Nations, more than six million people have fled the country and countless others have been internally displaced.
