Zelensky on Hungary’s position on oil: somehow they see the world differently

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has criticized the position of Hungary, which refuses to support the oil embargo against Russia, despite the fact that energy funds finance the Kremlin’s war machine.

Zelensky spoke about this during the Ukrainian breakfast in Davos, European Pravda reports.

“We have reached the sixth package (sanctions). It includes an oil embargo. Everyone says: during this time Russia will earn $ 200 billion. For such amounts they can buy any weapon. Has the sixth package been introduced? No. Why? is not suitable. Something is wrong with oil. Somehow they see the world wrong,” Zelensky said.

According to him, Budapest argues its position by the fact that it needs significant funds to refuse Russian oil.

“They are told: people are dying there in Ukraine, children are dying, they are being killed. Like an 18-year-old killer in Texas… So here, 18-year-old soldiers came from Russia and just tortured kids. They were told about this, and they say: Everyone understandable. – So what about the oil? – Where do we get the barts money? Zelensky said.

The President of the European Commission said earlier that the leaders of the European Union are unlikely to agree on an oil embargo against Russia at the May 30-31 summit.

Recall, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban ruled out the possibility of discussing the proposed EU oil embargo against Russia at the summit of leaders next week.
