Deputy Secretary of the United Russia General Council Sergei Perminov criticized the resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) accusing Russian political parties of “complicity in terrorism” and considered it “collective insanity”, an example of Russophobia and discrimination. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“The shameful “collective insanity” in the bodies of the Council of Europe continues. This reflects the Russophobic nature of today’s European elites and their degradation … As for the attempts to stigmatize parties en masse, this will become a textbook example of intolerance and discrimination. We got to the point where we turned the European concept into a fig leaf,” Perminov said.
He also pointed out that the representatives of parliaments in PACE “substitute for US ambassadors” instead of looking for answers and solutions. According to Perminov, “voting at the behest of Brussels and Washington,” they forget the interests of their own peoples, leaving them without a future.
Earlier, PACE approved a resolution in which the political parties of the Russian Federation are accused of “complicity in terrorism.” The document also proposes the creation of a special international tribunal to investigate Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
